Glenn Ellis, Sr.

February 7, 2013

Glenn Ellis, Sr. was a pre-med student at the University of Pennsylvania, completing his undergraduate degree in 1975. The Birmingham, Alabama native later began a long and fruitful career striving to enrich the health and well-being of others. Ellis is now an internationally respected health educator, speaker, radio personality, and consultant, in addition to being the author of the 2011 release Information is the Best Medicine.

Ellis has held a number of leadership positions in Pennsylvania. He was a Borough Councilman in Yeadon until 2001, serving as Chair of the Public Health and Safety Committee. He was also a lead consultant for the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health, helping the system provide more culturally competent care.

Ellis is currently the President of Strategies for Well-Being, LLC, a Philadelphia-based health education and consulting company. When not traveling around the world spreading information about health and wellness, you can find this highly successful black Penn alum at First Decisions Barbershop (113 S. 40th St.) every week mentoring current students of color.
